Isle of Avalon Granola Company
was founded by Kate Mood and Karen Moldovan in 2006. Kate fell in love with baking as a young woman.
When she grew up, she and Karen established
Riverbend Retreat Bed & Breakfast, where Kate began work on formulating the perfect granola to serve to the guests.

ate started with an old family recipe from the 60's (rediscovered on a tattered, yellowed recipe card,) and with much practice, she hit upon the perfect recipe - a delicious combination of organic whole oats, crunchy nuts and sunflower seeds and organic flame raisins and other moist dried fruits.
The granola was such a hit with the guests that they began calling the inn to ship them a few pounds to tide them over until they could return to Riverbend.
Some guests even give bags of our granola as holiday gifts!
